The Beginner Grade Album contains pieces that candidates will find both enjoyable and rewarding.  Well-known pieces “Jingle Bells”, “Lightly Row” and “London Bridge” have been included alongside more contemporary works such as “Spooky” and “Chit Chat”.  All the pieces have dynamic variation and both staccato and legato touches are required.

Each Item includes pieces that are suitable for candidates using tutor books that employ either a C major position or a “Middle C” position. 

All technical work (including scales and triads, exercises and musicianship) is included in the album.

This album further develops the technical and musical skills candidates explored in the Beginner Grade. Well-known works (“Frere Jacques”, “Ode to Joy” and “Alouette”) have been included, together with pieces featuring more contemporary sounds to provide candidates with an interesting and diverse range of pieces.

The pieces chosen for this album allow the candidate to display a varied dynamic range as well as a mastery of different articulations and accentuation.

The pieces in the Grade One Album have been drawn from a wide range of periods and styles. Works by historically significant composers such as J.S. Bach and Anton Diabelli have been featured, alongside works by contemporary Australian composers Rosalind Carlson, Daniel McFarlane and Paul Paviour.

All technical work for this Grade is included in this album.

As all the pieces have been chosen for their performance potential, this album is also ideal for candidates sitting a Concert Certificate One examination.
